FCD 300 Micro Drives

The Danfoss VLT Decentral Drive FCD 300 series comprises decentralized AC micro drives (frequency converters) intended to be mounted close to the motor. By enabling variable-speed operation of standard three-phase AC motors, it helps reduce the size of central cabinets and minimizes field wiring in distributed applications. The platform supports multiple mounting concepts, including standalone wall installation, direct motor mounting, and 3-in-one geared-motor solutions. A two-part construction-consisting of a fixed installation box and a pluggable electronics module-simplifies service and replacement. Electrically, the drive accepts three-phase mains (380-480 VAC, 50/60 Hz), converts it to a DC intermediate circuit, and then generates a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output to regulate speed over the specified range. Commissioning and integration are supported by built-in I/O (digital and analog plus a relay output), parameter access locally or via PC, and optional accessories such as a local control panel, depending on the build. Installation guidance covers protective earthing and leakage-current considerations, a required discharge wait after power-off, motor thermal protection settings, and optional braking functions for controlled stopping.
