131X7578 by Danfoss

The 131X7578 is a decentralized AC micro drive manufactured by Danfoss within the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. In conveyor lines, material-handling cells, and other distributed motor zones, the drive mounts close to the motor and adjusts speed and torque by varying the supply frequency. Its sealed housing permits installation directly on the machine, removing the need for a centralized cabinet. By placing the power electronics near the load, it shortens motor cable runs and helps keep distributed drive sections compact. It can be used where distributed motor zones need local speed control without a large enclosure.

The drive accepts a three-phase input of 3 x 380-480 V, allowing operation on common factory mains without an autotransformer. The power rating is 0.75 kW, which corresponds to 1.0 HP, so it can run small pumps, fans, and conveyors. The housing carries an IP66 rating, meaning it is dust-tight and resists strong water jets for washdown locations in food or beverage processing. Communication with higher-level controllers is provided through Profibus DP V0/V1 12 Mbaud, enabling parameter access, status feedback, and coordinated speed references over a deterministic fieldbus. This network connection lets the drive exchange operating data with the rest of the automation system without requiring a separate local operator panel.

To support electromagnetic compatibility, the unit ships with an integral 1 A filter, which attenuates conducted emissions on the supply lines. A standard coating protects the internal circuitry against moisture, and the hardware platform is supplied in a standard version. The front plate has no display, so setup is handled through remote software or the fieldbus, and wiring is simplified because of the lack of a terminal box; power and motor leads enter through molded glands. This arrangement keeps external openings to a minimum and helps the enclosure remain suitable for direct machine mounting.
