Okuma

Founded in 1898 by Eiichi Okuma in Nagoya, Japan, Okuma Noodle Machine Co. initially manufactured noodle-making machines. Displeased with the quality of lathes available in Japan, Okuma pivoted to designing and producing machine tools. In 1918, Eiichi established Okuma Machinery Works Ltd. and introduced the OS lathe.
