PM Drivers

The SANMOTION PM Drivers series consists of stepping motor drivers positioned between open-loop stepping systems and AC servo drives. These drivers support both AC (single-phase 100/115V and single/three-phase 200/230V) and DC (24/36V) power inputs. Controllers can operate via pulse-chain input, RS-485, or parallel I/O communication. Incorporating electronic gearing capabilities, they achieve precise positioning up to 3200 pulses per revolution (P/R). Utilizing sine wave pulse-width modulation (PWM) and proportional-integral current regulation, these drivers supply only the necessary current, significantly reducing motor heat build-up and decreasing temperature by approximately 80% compared to conventional solutions. Enhanced PWM control removes the need for stepdown circuitry, thus maintaining higher torque at increased speeds. Additional features include command synchronization through feed-forward, internal holding brake control, and regenerative braking functions. Protection mechanisms safeguard the motor and amplifier against overheating, monitor power supply voltage, and detect sensor malfunctions. Compatible with various motors ranging from 42mm to 86mm, this series offers holding torque options from 0.39 N•m up to 7.44 N•m. It further offers flexible mounting configurations and includes S-shaped acceleration/deceleration control for refined motion profiles.
