AMI Integrated Drive Motors

AMI Integrated Drive Motors consolidate a servo motor, onboard servo drive electronics, and an EtherCAT fieldbus interface into a single, compact unit that mounts directly on the machine, ideal for distributed axes where a conventional control cabinet is not used. They operate from 24 VDC or 48 VDC supplies and handle motion applications up to 400 W. Based on the selected type key, they provide 17-bit absolute encoder feedback in single-turn or multi-turn variants. Thermal protection is integrated via an LPTC-600 temperature contact that issues a warning at 120 °C and triggers automatic shutdown at 140 °C to safeguard the winding against overheating. Mechanical options include a parallel-keyed shaft, IP65 shaft-seal variants, and an optional 24 VDC holding brake. For versions ordered with integrated safety, the permanently installed AMI8911 TwinSAFE functionality enables Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE) features such as Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Stop 1 (SS1), with the safety action realized by interrupting the PWM control path inside the drive.
