VLT 5000 Frequency Converters

The VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series is a versatile industrial AC drive family for variable-speed operation of three-phase motors across a wide power and voltage range. Models are offered for 200-240 V, 380-500 V, 525-600 V, and 525-690 V supply classes. The platform supports both open- and closed-loop control and includes functions such as process and speed PID, torque control, flying start, Automatic Motor Adaptation, and controlled braking for demanding machinery. Its control architecture provides configurable digital and analog I/O, pulse and encoder inputs, relay outputs, RS485 serial communications, and optional external 24 VDC supply support for flexible integration. Many variants deliver output frequencies up to 1000 Hz, together with high overload capability, motor thermal protection, earth-fault and short-circuit protection, and heat-sink temperature monitoring. Available in chassis, NEMA 1, and NEMA 12 enclosures, it fits conveyors, pumps, cranes, and other equipment needing adaptable motor control and robust safeguards.
