The 176F7082 drive is produced by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series, which is intended for fan and pump control in building automation systems. In air-handling units and chiller panels, it adjusts motor speed to match changing airflow or water-flow demand, which can reduce energy use and mechanical stress during normal operation. That operating approach suits variable-torque loads commonly found in commercial ventilation and hydronic service. Speed modulation can also reduce abrupt starts compared with direct-on-line motor operation. Installed at the electrical distribution level, the drive allows constant-speed systems to be converted to variable-speed control without requiring changes to the driven fan or pump.
Electrical compatibility centers on a 380-460 VAC three-phase supply range, allowing direct connection to common industrial service voltages. The chassis uses a Compact IP 00 format, so the unit is intended for installation inside a protected cabinet with adequate cooling air. Because the enclosure is open, the surrounding cabinet must provide physical protection and a clean airflow path. Local setup and monitoring are available through an LCP (Local Control Panel) on the front of the drive, which allows operating values and basic settings to be viewed directly on the unit. The inverter is supplied without a filter, the boards have no coating, and the fieldbus position is set to no options, so control is based on hard-wired I/O.
The unit is configured for the Graham application profile, so its default parameter arrangement is intended for HVAC airflow behavior used with that equipment style. Internally, the power stage is a standard unit, which means it uses the common platform layout rather than a specialized power section. This profile supports ventilation and pumping duties that need stable speed regulation during changing load conditions. It is suited to applications where predictable response is more important than high-dynamic motion control.
