The 175Z7473 drive is manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. Within an automation panel, it functions as a variable-frequency controller that modulates the speed of centrifugal fans, pumps, and associated induction motors used for air handling and chilled-water circulation. By matching motor speed to real-time ventilation demand, the unit supports temperature control loops, lowers power draw, and can reduce wear on connected mechanical equipment in commercial and light-industrial facilities. This operating approach is commonly used where airflow and fluid movement need to track changing building demand instead of running at full speed continuously.
This model operates from a three-phase input range of 380-460 VAC, allowing direct connection to common North American and international mains. Its motor output limit is rated at 18.5 kW/25 HP, so it can drive medium-sized air movers without an external step-up transformer. A compact housing with an IP54 ingress rating protects internal boards against airborne dust and water spray encountered in mechanical rooms. Parameter access is provided through the removable Local Control Panel, which includes a backlit display and navigation keys for local setup and diagnostics. Internally, the drive is supplied as a standard unit, with no pre-fitted performance boosters or harmonic traps.
The power board has no protective coating, so the installation environment should remain within the required humidity and contamination limits. The mains side is supplied without a filter, so an external RFI filter may be added when emission control is required. Network integration is not factory enabled because the drive has no fieldbus options, and run, stop, and reference signals are therefore handled through hardwired I/O. This arrangement suits applications that use direct terminal wiring for basic control commands and analog speed references. The application tag Graham identifies a configuration used for pressure-control sequences common in that style of air-handling equipment.
