The 175Z7358 is a variable-frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. In air-handling systems, it supplies adjustable-speed power to induction motors so fan and pump output can follow changing building demand instead of operating at a fixed speed. By controlling motor frequency and voltage, the drive helps reduce energy use, supports quieter operation, and provides smooth acceleration that eases stress on belts, bearings, and valves in commercial climate-control equipment. This type of speed control also lets ventilation and water-circulation equipment respond gradually to load changes, which helps maintain stable airflow and temperature across occupied spaces.
Electrical and mechanical characteristics determine where the drive can be installed. It accepts a three-phase mains supply of 200-240 VAC, matching low-voltage building distribution panels. The inverter section is rated at 4.0 kW (5.0 HP), providing enough output for small rooftop units or secondary pumps. Its housing uses a Compact NEMA 1 enclosure style for finger-safe indoor wall or panel mounting without a separate cabinet. Local control is provided through the integrated keypad supplied with an LCP, and the drive is a standard unit with only the base control board installed. That arrangement suits HVAC service where core motor control functions are needed without extra communication hardware at the time of installation.
Electromagnetic compliance components are minimized because the drive is delivered without a filter, so conducted-emissions mitigation must be added externally when sensitive instrumentation shares the supply. The circuit boards are supplied without a protective coating, which limits the unit to dry, noncorrosive plant rooms. Communication expansion is left open because the drive comes without preinstalled option cards, allowing BACnet or Modbus modules to be added later if needed. The drive uses the Graham control profile, which is tuned for constant-torque HVAC loads and aligns the control loop with typical fan behavior. Because no input filter or board coating is included, the surrounding electrical and moisture conditions should be considered before the unit is placed near noise-sensitive or damp equipment.
