The 175Z7058 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. It is engineered to regulate induction motors in air-handling units, pumps, and cooling towers, letting building automation systems vary speed instead of cycling motors on and off. By modulating motor frequency and voltage, the unit reduces energy consumption, minimizes mechanical stress, and maintains stable airflow or water flow in large-scale HVAC installations. This operating method also helps reduce abrupt starts that can increase wear on belts, couplings, and pump components.

It accepts a three-phase input range of 380-460 VAC, so it can be connected to typical commercial distribution panels without an isolation transformer. The drive delivers up to 30 kW / 40 HP of output, matching medium-size fan wheels and centrifugal pumps found in multi-story facilities. Environmental protection is provided by a compact IP54 housing, which guards the electronics against dust and water splashes encountered in mechanical rooms. The unit comes with an LCP, giving operators direct access to start, stop, status, and parameter functions at the drive. For conducted emissions, a built-in Class A1/B filter attenuates radio-frequency noise on both the line and motor sides, helping the installation meet EMC requirements without extra external components.

Because the target application is HVAC, the drive includes predefined control macros for supply and exhaust fans, and it supports proportional-integral regulation of temperature or pressure sensors. The PCB surfaces have no protective coating, which is suitable for indoor mechanical rooms where airborne contaminants are limited. Internally, the electronics use the standard unit platform shared across the VLT 6000 family, keeping the control layout consistent within that product line. Communication add-ons are not installed, and both the fieldbus slot and the application option port have no installed options, so all I/O is handled through the terminal strip on the control board. This arrangement keeps external signal wiring at the control board rather than through separate communication modules.
