The 175Z7028 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss and supplied in the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. Designed for building automation, the unit modulates fan and pump motors to match ventilation or chiller demand, lowering energy use while maintaining stable airflow or liquid flow. By integrating directly into motor control centers, the drive provides speed regulation, soft-start, and protection functions for air-handling units, cooling towers, and similar HVAC processes. It is intended for variable-speed control where airflow or water circulation must respond smoothly to changing building loads. This operating approach helps reduce mechanical stress during startup and supports steadier control as demand changes throughout the day.

The drive accepts a three-phase input from 380-460 VAC, enabling deployment on common North American and international supply grids. Its output capacity is rated at 7.5 kW/10 HP, so it can manage medium-size induction motors commonly used in supply fans or condenser pumps. The housing uses a compact IP20 enclosure, which gives finger-safe protection and allows mounting inside a clean electrical panel without additional covers. To limit conducted emissions, the integral filter meets Class A1 and Class B limits, making the unit suitable for industrial and residential environments. A built-in Local Control Panel provides start, stop, and parameter access without an additional operator station. This arrangement also allows basic setup and status checks at the drive when remote control is not being used.

Because it is engineered specifically for HVAC service, its parameter sets focus on airflow, pressure, and temperature control rather than generic motor tuning. The drive ships with no conformal coating, so it should be installed in a dry, noncorrosive switch room to reduce exposure to moisture. Internally it uses standard unit hardware, so the power section and cooling layout follow the baseline VLT 6000 design. Communication expansion is optional, and this model is delivered with no fieldbus options.
