The 175Z7023 variable frequency drive is manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. It targets HVAC automation by converting fixed 50/60 Hz power into a variable frequency that regulates the speed of induction motors in fans, pumps, and air-handling equipment. By matching motor speed to real-time load, the unit lowers energy use and reduces mechanical stress on connected equipment. That operating method also helps ventilation and fluid-handling systems respond more smoothly to changing demand than fixed-speed starters. Because it fits standard motor starters and protective devices, it is often selected as a direct retrofit solution in commercial and light-industrial plants that need tighter control of airflow and water movement.

The drive accepts 380-460 VAC three-phase input and delivers up to 1.5 kW / 2.0 HP of shaft power to the connected machine. All electronics are housed in a compact IP20 chassis that mounts inside a control cabinet and provides basic touch-safe protection. An internal Class A1 and B filter suppresses conducted radio-frequency noise, so additional line filters are usually unnecessary. Parameter entry and local jogging are handled through the removable Local Control Panel, which gives direct access to operating settings and local control functions. Cabinet mounting keeps the power section enclosed while preserving front access for routine operation.

The 175Z7023 leaves the factory as a standard unit without specialized harmonic suppression or extended I/O. The base model has no fieldbus option and no application-specific macro option, so it is aimed at straightforward control layouts rather than network-dependent setups. The printed-circuit boards have no protective coating, so the drive should be installed in clean, temperature-controlled rooms. This arrangement is better suited to indoor cabinets where dust, moisture, and corrosive airborne contaminants are limited.
