In building and process installations, it modulates the speed of centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors so motor output matches real-time load requirements, reducing electrical consumption and mechanical wear. Instead of running the connected motor at full speed continuously, it varies frequency to follow changing airflow or pressure demand. Mounted inside a control panel, the unit receives run commands from a supervisory controller and adjusts motor frequency accordingly, helping maintain stable temperature or pressure setpoints during normal operation.

The drive accepts a three-phase input of 380-460 VAC, a range suited to common low-voltage distribution networks. Its output is rated at 1.5 kW (2.0 hp), which suits small air-handling units and recirculation pumps. The housing uses a book-style IP20 format, allowing side-by-side mounting while protecting against accidental contact with live parts. Parameter access is handled through an integrated LCP, so operating status and setpoints can be viewed locally without external tools. For electromagnetic compatibility, the drive includes a combined Class A1 and B filter that helps reduce conducted radio-frequency emissions on the motor and mains leads. This arrangement is useful in panel installations where electrical noise on shared supply lines must be limited.

All control communication is hard-wired because the unit has no fieldbus options installed. The product is intended for HVAC duties, so it includes predefined airflow and pump macros rather than generic application templates. PCB surfaces are supplied with no coating, which is appropriate for clean electrical rooms where chemical vapors or high humidity are not present. The electronics and power stage use the standard unit hardware configuration, so excitation chokes, brake choppers, and sensor options are not included.
