The 175L1017 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. This controller modulates the voltage and frequency delivered to three-phase induction motors, enabling closed-loop speed regulation in pumps, fans, and conveyor applications used throughout industrial automation. By integrating rectifier, DC link, and inverter sections in one enclosure, the unit streamlines panel design and replaces mechanical speed-control elements. This arrangement also helps the drive deliver smoother motor operation during starts, speed changes, and normal running conditions.

The drive accepts a three-phase mains supply at 3 x 440/460/500 V ±10% and works on the standard 50/60 Hz line frequency. Internally, it can deliver up to 500 Hz of programmable output so high-speed machines can operate above the synchronous base of 100 Hz. Continuous load current is 2.6 A, while short-term overload handling supports temporary demand changes without interrupting normal control. Shaft power reaches 1.1 kW, and full-load conversion efficiency is 96%, which helps limit wasted energy inside the enclosure. A supply fuse not exceeding 16 A is recommended to protect upstream conductors and limit fault energy, and the inverter can reproduce the full mains voltage at its output.

PWM carrier adjustment is available up to 14 kHz, allowing the drive to balance audible motor noise against additional heating in the motor windings. Electronic thermal monitoring with an embedded thermistor provides motor protection and works with the overload timer to support stable operation during changing load conditions. The unit is suitable for ambient temperatures up to 40 °C without current derating. Motor leads up to 150 m can be used when shielded, or 300 m when unshielded, and the terminal blocks accept conductors up to 2.5 mm². These cable allowances make it easier to place the drive and motor in separate sections of a larger machine or production area.
