The 175H3070 is an AC variable speed drive built by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. In automated plants, it links directly to contactors and programmable controllers to vary motor speed on conveyors, dosing pumps, and fan modules. By synthesizing a controllable output waveform, the unit adjusts torque during start-up, maintains constant speed under load changes, and allows soft stopping to limit mechanical wear. Integrated diagnostics flag overtemperature, phase loss, and ground faults so the source of a fault can be identified before downtime escalates.

It accepts a nominal supply of 400 V AC (3-phase) at 50/60 Hz and draws up to 4.8 A during normal operation. Internally, IGBT switching lets the inverter deliver output frequencies from 0 Hz to 500 Hz, so both standard and high-speed motors can be operated from a single platform. An IP54 cabinet seals the electronics against dust and water spray, supporting field mounting outside control panels. At full rating, the power section converts energy with an efficiency of 0.96, limiting heat rise and reducing cooling requirements. Motor starts can occur up to 100 times per minute without derating, which is useful on indexing machinery.

Protective coordination is handled upstream by a 25 A pre-fuse, while the drive's current limit permits 6.5 A for 60 s to clear transient overloads before the electronic trip activates. Under continuous load, the inverter supplies 4.1 A and 2.9 kVA at the motor terminals, matching the rated motor voltage of 400 V and fundamental frequency of 50 Hz. The resulting mechanical output reaches 1.5 kW, which is suitable for small compressors, fans, or mixers that need tight speed regulation. These electrical values indicate the drive's continuous load capability and short-term overload behavior in everyday industrial service.
