The 175H1027 is a variable frequency drive engineered by Danfoss within the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. The module converts fixed three-phase mains power into a pulse-width-modulated output whose frequency and voltage can be adjusted to match the requirements of an attached induction motor. By controlling speed rather than relying on mechanical throttling, it allows tighter process regulation and measurable energy savings in industrial automation cells. Designed for cabinet mounting, the unit integrates IGBT power electronics and a digital control core that can be adjusted from the front keypad.

For heavy acceleration or braking, the inverter supplies 2.5 kVA of apparent power for 60 seconds, while its constant-torque channel is rated at 1 HP and delivers a continuous output of 2.8 A. Short bursts up to 3.5 A are available for 60-second intervals to overcome transient load peaks. Under full load, the power stage reaches 96% efficiency, limiting heat dissipation and reducing the size of external cooling hardware. An input connection expects three-phase AC, and the synthesized output frequency can be adjusted from zero up to 500 Hz, allowing motors to run well above base speed when the mechanical design permits. The drive can be commanded to start or stop up to five times per minute without derating, which supports indexing duties and other repetitive motion tasks.

During steady-state operation, its output apparent power in continuous mode is 2.0 kVA, and the terminal block accepts copper conductors up to AWG 12. Motor leads may extend to 1000 ft unshielded, which simplifies placement of remote pumps or fan decks in larger installations. Reliable operation is specified up to +40 °C ambient, with non-condensing humidity allowed to 95% and storage survivability to +65 °C. Correct installation of cooling clearances helps preserve device life and keeps the power stage within its operating limits during repeated start-stop cycles.
