The 195N1040 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. Deployed inside control panels, it converts fixed mains power into a regulated output that controls induction-motor speed in continuous-flow process lines. By modulating frequency and voltage, the unit allows pumps, blowers, and conveyors to match load requirements, improving energy efficiency and limiting mechanical wear during industrial automation tasks. This operating method lets the connected motor run at the speed required by the process instead of only at line frequency.
This model accepts a mains supply of 380-480 V ±10% 50/60 Hz and is designed for three-phase distribution networks common in plant environments. Inside the inverter stage, it delivers a nominal output of 1.5 kW, equivalent to 2.0 HP, giving sufficient capacity for small and medium process drives. The housing has a protection level of IP20, so the book-sized chassis must be mounted in a clean electrical cabinet. The drive is shipped without an application option, without conformal coating on its circuit boards, and without a fieldbus card. These selections leave the unit focused on basic analog and digital control wiring. The Process application setting suits constant-torque loads such as agitators. The standard electronics platform also includes an integrated brake chopper for motor braking.
An internal RFI network rated to EN 55011 Class A1 limits conducted emissions, aiding use in industrial zones. Operators interact through the built-in display (SLCP), which shows status, setpoints, and fault codes without external tools. Cooling air can circulate freely because the drive uses a slim book-style enclosure that occupies minimal panel width inside a control cabinet. The drive is standard with brake, so a braking transistor is prepared for dynamic deceleration when a resistive element is added. This arrangement supports applications that need controlled stopping without specialty expansion hardware.
