The 195H4103 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss within the VLT 2000 Frequency Converters series. As an AC motor controller, it modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to an induction motor so shaft speed can be matched to changing process demands. The unit sits between the mains supply and the motor, translating low-level reference commands from a PLC into a variable output waveform that supports energy savings and smoother mechanical acceleration in general-purpose industrial automation. This also helps reduce abrupt starts and keeps motor response more consistent during changing load conditions.

For control integration, the drive provides an analog reference source of 10 V DC for potentiometer feedback and a separate digital input rail at 24 V DC for start, stop, and preset commands. The power stage tolerates mains fluctuations of ±10% without derating and can deliver a constant output current of 3.1 A while generating 1.3 kVA at 230 V. When coupled to a motor, the converter's typical shaft output equals 0.55 kW, with frequency regulation from line frequency up to a ceiling of 500 Hz. The selectable acceleration profile synchronizes motor torque with load inertia, and the IP20 open-frame enclosure allows mounting inside a protected cabinet where airflow and wiring space can be managed more easily.

Motor and mains terminals accept conductors up to 4 mm², and the recommended single-phase 230 V feed is protected by a 16 A pre-fuse. Internal ramp generators extend acceleration or deceleration to as long as 800 s, preventing mechanical shock on high-inertia loads. A minimum pull-up resistance of 600 ? should be applied to the logic inputs to maintain stable signal levels when remote contacts open. The converter stays operational in noncondensing atmospheres with relative humidity up to 95%, provided cabinet airflow removes waste heat.
