MS2M04-B0FNN-KMDH1 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The MS2M04-B0FNN-KMDH1 is an ultra-compact synchronous motor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. It is designed for servo axes in packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and semiconductor tools, where drive current must be converted into controlled mechanical motion within a very small installation space. Its plain shaft couples directly with precision gearheads or timing belts, which supports accurate load movement without adding unnecessary shaft complexity. The compact housing also helps when machine layouts leave little room around the motor body.

The motor uses natural convection for cooling and is sealed to IP65, so dust and water jets do not interfere with operation. Its integrated optical encoder provides single-turn or multi-turn absolute feedback, and the encoder is powered from 4.75 to 5.25 V so position data can be reported directly to the drive. Peak mechanical output reaches 9.55 Nm, and the winding supports a nominal speed of 3000 rpm for fast, repeatable axis movement. The electrically released holding brake operates at 24 V DC and holds the load when control power is removed. Permitted ambient temperature is 0 to 40 °C, and operation is allowed at altitudes up to 1000 m.

The mounting face uses an 80 mm square flange with a front spigot diameter of 70 mm, helping the motor align with standard servo gearbox interfaces. The mounting bolts are arranged on a 90 mm circle, and the plain steel shaft projects 32 mm from the housing. Shaft diameter is 19 mm, which gives a simple output interface without a keyway. Connection is made through M17 quick-lock SPEEDCON plugs, and the double metal lead set carries power and feedback without separate cable runs. Low rotor inertia helps the frame size 4, length B motor respond quickly, and the 65 dB(A) sound pressure level keeps operating noise moderate.
