Bosch Rexroth Indramat's MS2M04-A0FNN-KMDL0 is an ultra-compact motor in the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. Intended for tight industrial installations, the model converts regulated drive current into precise rotary motion for indexing tables, small gantries, and high-speed assembly tooling. Its natural-convection housing and low-inertia rotor support frequent speed reversals without auxiliary fans. It is suited to applications that need responsive motion but cannot accommodate external cooling hardware. Its compact frame can be useful on moving carriages where motor size affects available travel and clearance.

The mechanical interface begins with a flange that measures 80 mm square and aligns to the machine frame through a 70 mm spigot; it also uses a keyed 19 mm shaft without a sealing ring. At the nominal operating point, the motor delivers 2.39 Nm at 3000 rpm, which corresponds to 0.75 kW of continuous shaft power. Peak current can rise to 12.3 A, while the continuous current requirement remains 4.1 A. Feedback is provided by an optical encoder with 23-bit resolution in single-turn or multi-turn format, powered from a 4.75-5.25 V logic rail. That feedback supports accurate commutation and position tracking throughout the speed range. The assembly operates between 0 °C and 40 °C, and acoustic emission is held to 65 dB(A) for controlled operating noise.

For short bursts, the electromagnetic package produces up to 7.16 Nm, giving the drive additional acceleration headroom during rapid index moves. The die-cast housing carries an IP65 rating, which helps keep dust and low-pressure water jets away from internal bearings and the double-cable SPEEDCON connectors. A bolt circle of 90 mm supports common mounting patterns, and the total mass of 2.8 kg helps reduce the load placed on moving machine members. The double-cable connector layout separates power and feedback paths for orderly routing at the motor end. The keyed shaft and compact housing make the motor suitable for small servo axes that need direct, rigid coupling in a limited envelope.
