The MS2M03-B0FNN-KMDL0 is an ultra-compact synchronous servo motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. Designed for tight cabinet layouts and precise axis control, the unit converts drive current into regulated torque for positioning tasks in automated assembly stations, pick-and-place modules, and packaging machinery. Its frame size 3 and frame length B housing keeps mass low, while the low-inertia rotor supports rapid acceleration and responsive speed changes. When paired with an IndraDrive controller, the motor provides closed-loop motion for compact axes where installation space is limited and repeatable positioning is required.

At its nominal operating point, the motor delivers 1.27 Nm continuously at 3000 rpm while drawing 2.40 A RMS current. For transient loads, the drive may supply 7.23 A, enabling a peak torque of 3.82 Nm for short acceleration or indexing events. These values suit servo loops that need quick settling, and heat is removed by natural convection rather than forced air. Five pole pairs create the rotating field, and a 23-bit optical encoder, available in single-turn or multi-turn form, returns position data over a 4.75 to 5.25 V supply line. M17 SPEEDCON connectors with a double metal lead cable support compact wiring, the motor uses a keyed shaft without a sealing ring, and the design comes without a holding brake.

The enclosure has an IP65 rating, which keeps out dust and resists low-pressure water jets in machine environments. Permissible ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 40 °C, and full output is available up to 1000 m above sea level. A torque constant of 0.52 Nm/A at 20 °C links commanded current to produced torque, while the per-phase back-EMF constant of 18.30 mV/rpm is useful for drive matching and electrical calculations. Sound pressure stays below 65 dB(A), and cooling remains natural convection so no fan is required. The compact housing and low rotor inertia help the motor fit closely spaced multi-axis equipment where cabling space and thermal clearance are limited.
