The MS2M03-B0FNN-KMDH0 is a synchronous servo unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. As an ultra-compact motor, it fits dense machine layouts and supplies rotary motion to feeders, pick-and-place modules, and light-duty spindles. Because it is a synchronous servo unit, it supports closed-loop speed and position control during indexing and continuous rotation. Its compact envelope helps where adjacent axes, tooling, and cable paths leave little unused space around the motor. A low-inertia rotor supports fast cycle times. The assembly is supplied without a holding brake, so stopped-position retention must come from external clamping or drive torque.

At nominal load, the motor delivers 0.4 kW at 3000 rpm, supported by a continuous torque of 1.27 Nm at 2.40 A rms per phase. The enclosure is rated IP65, which blocks dust ingress and water jets, and thermal management depends on natural convection so no fans are required. Feedback comes from a 23-bit optical encoder that can be configured for single-turn or multi-turn operation, and its signals exit through double metal lead cables and an M17 SPEEDCON quick-lock connector. This feedback arrangement supports commutation and position monitoring across the operating range. The motor uses frame size 3 with frame length B and five pole pairs, while stator resistance is 1.74 ? per phase and the permissible ambient temperature range is 0 °C to 40 °C.

For transient events, the drive can supply 7.23 A, letting the rotor generate up to 3.82 Nm without exceeding thermal limits. The winding has a 3-phase inductance of 9.80 mH, and the torque constant of 0.52 Nm/A(rms) converts commanded current into predictable output. These electrical values help the drive translate current demand into repeatable torque response during acceleration and reversal. The plain shaft is delivered without a sealing ring, which simplifies coupling in clean environments and keeps weight to 1.52 kg for moving assemblies that benefit from low mass. Encoder electronics accept 4.75-5.25 V, and acoustic emission is limited to 65 dB(A).
