The MS2M03-A0FNN-KMDL1 is a compact AC synchronous motor from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. It is intended for axis control in machinery where installation space is limited and precise motion is still required. The motor converts electrical input from a servo drive into controlled rotary motion for positioning and speed-regulated tasks. It includes an optical encoder with 23-bit resolution that can be configured for single-turn or multi-turn feedback, giving the drive accurate position data and stable response during rapid changes in command or load. Its compact form suits feed axes, handling modules, and other tightly packed mechanisms where a larger frame would be harder to install.

In continuous operation, the motor runs at 3000 rpm and delivers 0.64 Nm of torque while drawing 1.50 A. When higher acceleration is needed, it can handle a maximum winding current of 4.61 A for short periods. A phase inductance of 13.90 mH helps smooth current flow, and a phase resistance of 2.78 ? at 20 °C contributes to the expected copper losses and voltage demand. The rotor uses five pole pairs, and the torque constant supports responsive motion with low cogging. Cooling is provided by natural convection, so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. This arrangement keeps the motor package simple and supports installation in compact machine sections where extra cooling hardware would take up space.

For short-term load surges, the motor can reach a peak torque of 1.91 Nm. An electrically released holding brake operates on 24 V DC to hold the shaft at standstill when needed, which is useful on axes that must remain in position after power is removed. The housing is rated IP65, which helps protect internal parts from dust and water spray, and the permitted ambient operating range is 0 to 40 °C. The keyed output shaft is supplied without a sealing ring, which reduces drag in low-inertia applications and supports keyed couplings that need positive torque transfer. Noise emission remains within 65 dB(A), helping keep audible output controlled in enclosed machine areas.
