The MS2M02-A0FNN-KMDL1 is an ultra-compact synchronous motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. As a small-frame servo unit, it delivers closed-loop rotary power to conveyor, pick-and-place, and tooling stations where space and mass must be minimized. By combining encoder feedback with an integrated electrically released brake, it maintains position during power-off events and supports precise speed regulation in larger multi-axis automation platforms.

Its performance envelope starts with a maximum rotational speed of 6000 rpm, allowing fast cycle times without mechanical gearing. For load acceleration, it produces up to 0.48 Nm of torque, which suits the low rotor inertia so control loops can make fine position corrections. The holding brake is energized by 24 V DC; when voltage is removed, the spring sets and locks the shaft to help keep vertical axes in place. Position feedback comes from a 23-bit optical encoder that is available in single-turn or multi-turn versions and supplies high-resolution data to the drive controller. An enclosure rating of IP65 permits installation on machinery exposed to dust or directed water spray, while natural convection cooling eliminates the need for auxiliary fans. Logic and sensor electronics are powered through a control supply range of 4.75 to 5.25 V, which keeps the encoder and brake sensors stable during startup voltage fluctuations.

The motor weighs only 0.77 kg, so moving masses remain low when it is installed on gantries positioned up to 1000 m above sea level.
