IKL0268 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The IKL0268 is a power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for its IKL Control Cables series. Intended for industrial automation, the cable carries three-phase drive current and control voltages between servo drives and motors while remaining flexible enough for installation in moving cable carriers. Its mechanical design allows placement in drag chains and continuous motion zones common to pick-and-place systems, gantry axes, and packaging machines. A PUR outer jacket colored orange to RAL 2003 provides abrasion resistance, oil compatibility, and a halogen-free construction that supports plant safety requirements.

The cable's mechanical fatigue life reaches 5,000,000 bending cycles, so reciprocating axes can operate for years without conductor breakage. When clamped in a stationary run, the minimum bend radius is 5 x D, whereas during continuous flexing the radius must be kept to at least 7.5 x D to prevent copper strand stress. For high-speed linear stages, the design tolerates accelerations up to 10 m/s² and travel rates as high as 5 m/s, aligning with the velocity limits of most modern drag-chain systems. The halogen-free PUR sheath maintains flexibility under these conditions while resisting cutting fluids and coolant splash.

Installation distances can be extended because the allowable run length is 75.0 m, reducing the need for intermediate junction boxes on long production lines. During operation, the copper cores may reach 80 °C without degrading insulation, and the cable can be stored down to -30 °C with an upper storage limit of 40 °C. Compliance with the oil resistance criteria of EN 60811-2-1 means the jacket remains intact in hydraulic-oil atmospheres, supporting reliable motion control in presses, machine tools, and forming equipment.
