The 8KSJ76.E7030B100-0 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B & R Automation within the 8KS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for demanding positioning axes, this motor converts electrical energy into rotary motion that can be precisely coordinated by a drive controller in industrial automation cells. Its compact 8KSJ frame allows the unit to be integrated beside conveyors, pick-and-place heads, or gantry modules that rely on accurate cycle timing. It is suited to applications where repeatable motion and stable axis control are required across frequent start-stop cycles. The motor can therefore support coordinated indexing, transfer, and placement tasks where motion quality directly affects throughput.
The motor achieves an angular precision of ±20" through its optical feedback chain. Heat is removed by a water-cooled jacket, and the cooling module with fan and water lines is installed on the right side of the housing for service access. Nominal shaft rotation reaches 3000 rpm, supporting direct coupling to rapid linear stages and other high-response mechanisms. Position data are transmitted over EnDat 2.1 from a multi-turn encoder, which allows absolute referencing after power-up. Mechanical power is transmitted through a keyed shaft end, and the terminal box sits on top of the stator with a 270° right-hand outlet that supports vertical cable entry.
The encoder registers 4096 recognizable revolutions and provides fine position tracking within each turn through a 2048-line resolution. The stator assembly identified as motor length 6 balances torque density with installation depth, while the 8KSJ construction keeps interfaces common across the series. The motor uses flange and B-side base mounting, which allows the housing to fit different machine layouts. Because no oil seal or holding brake is installed, shaft sealing and load holding must be provided externally where the application requires them. This arrangement allows separate retention or sealing hardware to be placed at the driven mechanism instead of at the motor housing. The connection hardware is arranged on the right side, and the design uses the standard option set for this model.
