8KS Synchronous Motors

The 8KS Synchronous Motors series by B&R Automation is a lineup of permanent-magnet, three-phase servo motors engineered for demanding machinery that calls for a high power-to-size ratio, strong overload handling, and reliable efficiency in continuous duty. The portfolio is offered in both air-cooled and water-cooled designs, with air-cooled models available with axial or centrifugal fans and water-cooled options for maximum thermal performance, so the cooling concept can fit the installation and output needs. Users can choose among multiple frame sizes, stack lengths, base speeds, and feedback systems, including resolver as well as EnDat single-turn or multi-turn encoders, with functional-safety-capable variants available. Mechanical customization includes smooth or keyed shafts, optional holding brakes, reinforced bearing packages, and several mounting arrangements for easy machine integration. Electrically, the motors are intended for 3 x 400-480 VAC servo drives, provide terminal-box power entry with circular encoder connectors, and carry industrial ratings like IP54 and insulation class F.
