This supports closed-loop motion tasks in machine tools, packaging lines, and other automation equipment that relies on accurate position feedback.

In its 10-bit operating mode, the board can supply 2,048 counts per revolution when it is connected to a 4-pole resolver. The figure rises to 3,072 counts with a 6-pole element and to 4,096 counts when an 8-pole transducer is used. These values show the number of unique digital positions within one mechanical turn, so higher counts let the controller observe smaller incremental steps. When 16-bit resolution is selected, the word length expands to 131,072 counts on a 4-pole sensor for very fine position feedback. Field jumpers allow selection of 10-bit, 12-bit, 14-bit, or 16-bit output depth to match the required accuracy and data-handling rate of the connected control system.

At the same 16-bit depth, a 6-pole resolver yields 196,608 counts per revolution, which supports very fine position feedback on demanding axes. Feedback wiring is handled through two DB9 male connectors mounted at the card edge, which keeps the electrical interface straightforward. The circuitry processes data from two resolver channels and produces quadrature information that a drive can latch directly for motion control. The board can be used with several resolver pole configurations, allowing one interface to support different motor arrangements without changing the card layout.
