The 02-104806 edge connector cardholder is produced by Vickers within the Vickers Accessories series. It is designed to secure a DIN-format daughterboard and provide a reliable interface point for back-plane wiring in industrial automation racks. It is intended for cabinets that use plug-in electronics, where repeatable positioning at the connection point helps prevent contact misalignment during routine board handling. By keeping the mating connector in precise alignment, the unit allows control modules, sensor interfaces, or drive boards to slide into place without disturbing surrounding wiring. Because the holder keeps the board edge guided as it enters, adjacent terminations remain organized and accessible.

The cardholder has an overall length of 158 mm, which gives enough span to support a full-height Eurocard during insertion and operation. Inside the housing, 2 conductive rows are arranged on a 5.08 mm pitch so the board traces line up with common IEC signal spacing. The two rows provide 32 individual contacts, allowing separate paths for signal, power, and ground circuits within the same connector body. This layout is commonly used when one connector must carry control signals alongside supply and reference conductors. The interface follows the DIN 41612 Type D32 profile, which provides mechanical compatibility with other hardware that uses the same connector format.

The mating side uses a Female edge connector, so the copper fingers on the printed circuit board engage recessed spring contacts inside the holder. For mounting, 4.2 mm clearance holes accept metric machine screws, and the 127 mm × 40 mm center-to-center pattern fits standard card cage rails. Rear wiring is made through Solder Connections, which allow low-resistance joints and secure conductor attachment after the leads are dressed. The rear solder terminations also support custom wire lengths and harness routing within fixed rack assemblies.
