The EEA-PAM-581D32-EN3 is a plug-in power amplifier card produced by Vickers and delivered under the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. The module converts low-level control references into regulated current suitable for proportional solenoids in hydraulic actuators, letting a motion controller dictate force or flow directly. By matching the electrical interface between the PLC and the valve coil, the card supports direct control in industrial presses, injection machines, and test stands. This arrangement lets the cabinet controller command hydraulic valve behavior without a separate external amplifier stage. It mounts in a standard Eurocard rack within the control cabinet, and fixed component tolerances keep channel-to-channel behavior consistent across multiple identical axes.
The analog interface supports either current or voltage commands. When the controller supplies a differential current of ±20 mA, the amplifier sees an input impedance of 100 ?, so only moderate signal power is required from the upstream electronics. Voltage mode expects signals within ±10 V and presents 47 k? of loading, which minimizes current draw from PLC analog outputs. The two input modes let the same card work with different analog output types from higher-level control hardware. Internal precision regulators also generate ±10 V at 5 mA for local set-point or feedback circuits. The power stage is energized from a 24 V DC machine supply, and onboard inductive suppression limits switching transients that could disturb adjacent cards.
Output capability follows the coil drive limits. Under zero-volt command, the board sources 1.7 A, giving a controlled bias that keeps the valve centered before modulation begins. During full-stroke operation, it can deliver up to 3.2 A to the solenoid, enabling fast spool movement without external boosters. Continuous dissipation at this level is supported by a nominal rating of 50 W, so cabinet airflow must remove the related heat. A buffered monitor jack with 10 k? impedance allows real-time observation of the drive signal without loading the circuit, and the same point can be used by a data-acquisition card for process verification. That feedback point is also useful when the control system compares the command signal with actual valve response.
