The EEA-PAM-581-C-33 is a plug-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers for the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Installed in hydraulic control cabinets, it converts command voltages from a motion controller into proportional coil current. This allows a directional or pressure valve to track set points precisely in automated presses, plastics machines, and similar industrial equipment.

Normal operation is supported by a nominal bus of 24 VDC, and the board can dissipate up to 50 W while driving loads. A command current input presents 100 ? to an external transducer, minimizing signal loss, whereas the voltage command path offers 47 k? of impedance so standard 0-10 V sources are not heavily loaded. For auxiliary sensors or potentiometers, the card supplies a stabilized reference of ±15 V at 50 mA, and this local supply keeps feedback loops independent of external power stability. Logic-level gates such as the ramp and enable lines share a 22 k? pull-down and respond to TTL or PLC outputs, allowing coordinated starts and smooth acceleration profiles without additional interface hardware.

On the load side, the amplifier can deliver a peak solenoid current of 3.2 A, giving full stroke authority to proportional valves with low-resistance coils. If the incoming supply falls to 18 VDC, the card shuts down to protect the field device from sluggish actuation, and polarity reversal on the input lines is blocked by an internal diode network. A built-in monitor generates ±10 V that mirrors spool position for real-time diagnostics, while logic gating becomes active once the enable pin exceeds 9.8 VDC. These thresholds, together with reverse-polarity protection and ramp override inputs, support stable valve performance during power fluctuations and allow quick verification through the front-panel test points.
