The EEA-PAM-561-C-33 is a plug-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers for the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Installed in an automation cabinet, the module converts low-level reference signals into regulated drive outputs for hydraulic or electromechanical actuators, enabling closed-loop motion and pressure control. This arrangement lets the control system use a compact amplifier stage without separate analog conditioning hardware. Because it is a plug-in card, it suits modular control racks where orderly wiring and consistent signal handling are important.
The card draws its primary logic and power-stage energy from a nominal 24 V DC supply, so it can connect directly to a common machine bus. Under continuous operation it consumes up to 50 W, which is relevant to enclosure heat load and supply capacity. The current command input has an impedance of 100 ?, allowing the module to accept 4-20 mA loops without placing a heavy burden on the source. For voltage command channels, a differential buffer referenced to an auxiliary supply of ±15 V, 50 mA max is provided, and the input network of 47 k? helps preserve low-level control signals from loading effects. This is useful when the card is driven by PLC analog outputs or other low-power reference sources. The unit also tolerates bus ripple up to 10% pk-pk before regulation accuracy is affected, so moderate supply variation does not immediately disturb the commanded output.
If the incoming line drifts outside 20 to 40 V DC, the amplifier inhibits its outputs, and a dedicated shutdown threshold of 18 V DC supports an orderly power-down before the analog stages lose linear operation. When power is within range, an enable pin must see at least 9.8 V to activate the drive section, which reduces the chance of unintended output. The adjustable ramper shapes command slopes from 50 ms to 5 s, allowing smoother acceleration and deceleration of the connected actuator. That range suits both quick response and more gradual motion changes in hydraulic or electromechanical systems. Reverse-polarity protection is included, so accidental supply reversal blocks operation rather than damaging components.
