The EEA-EDC-436-A3-14 is a plug-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers and assigned to the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Installed on a hydraulic control backplane, the module conditions command signals and modulates current to proportional solenoid valves so that displacement of a PVH pump can be regulated in closed-loop industrial automation. By translating low-level controller outputs into scalable coil drive energy, it forms the electrical interface between a motion controller and the fluid-power actuator. This allows the hydraulic system to maintain repeatable pressure or flow setpoints in process machinery. Because the amplifier card handles the current scaling, the higher-level controller can focus on the command value rather than the electrical demands of the valve coils.

Electrical integration is anchored by a DIN 41612 F48 male connector that positions the card on a standardized rack. The board conforms to the Eurocard 3U outline, allowing dense stacking in 19-inch enclosures and consistent card spacing in modular cabinets. Supply power is a single 24 V DC rail, and the circuit draws up to 40 W under peak operating conditions. If the rail falls to 19 V DC, an internal undervoltage detector inhibits coil drive to prevent erratic valve motion. The rack format also helps keep power and control connections organized when several cards are installed side by side.

A 24-volt logic input applies command enable, separating control authorization from raw power for safety interlocks. Actuation energy is delivered as a PWM signal whose duty cycle sets solenoid current, allowing the output stage to regulate valve response smoothly. The card also provides an auxiliary reference output of +15 V 50 mA, so external sensors or potentiometers can be biased without an additional supply. Hydraulic compatibility is tuned for the PVH131 pump, matching the amplifier's current range to the pump's proportional control valve. Electronic pressure or displacement regulation can be added to existing hydraulic manifolds, and output stops when the enable line is removed.
