The GADSA05LH24 is an AC servo amplifier produced by Sanyo Denki in the G Sanmotion AC Servo Amplifiers series. Intended for single-axis motion systems, it turns incoming mains or DC bus power into controlled three-phase output for a servomotor and exchanges real-time status with the host controller. Acting as the power stage in a closed-loop drive, it enables precise motor control within industrial machinery and robotics cells.

The amplifier supplies up to 50 A of phase current, providing headroom for rapid acceleration and regenerative braking. Motor waveforms are generated by an IGBT-based sinusoidal PWM control topology, which minimises current distortion. Line terminals accept 200-240 VAC single- or three-phase at 50/60 Hz, and the unit can also be powered from a 300 V DC bus when a common converter is used. Communication with the motion controller occurs through an EtherCAT port that supports cyclic data exchange down to sub-millisecond periods. A dual-channel Safe Torque Off circuit disconnects the motor windings on demand, eliminating residual torque without mechanical relays. Parameter sets allow seamless switching between position, speed, and torque operating modes during runtime.

The module weighs 1.4 kg, so it can be mounted on DIN rail without additional supports. Continuous duty is specified from 0 to +60 °C, and reliable operation is maintained up to 95 % RH provided moisture does not condense. One axis is driven per amplifier, simplifying troubleshooting and scaling in multi-motor installations. The general-purpose output can be wired as sinking or sourcing, allowing direct connection to sensors or relays without external adapters. Together, these mechanical, environmental, and I/O features complement the dynamic control functions discussed earlier, giving integrators a compact drive solution that meets both performance and safety requirements.
