The U12DNU-F/PA1130 is a permanent-magnet, brushless motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the PLATINUM U Servomotors series. This model is engineered for tightly controlled positioning and velocity regulation in industrial automation, and it works with digital drives that close the current loop through encoder feedback. By converting regulated electrical power into precise rotary torque, it supports indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, coordinated multi-axis stages, and similar equipment used in packaging, assembly, and testing lines.

At a shaft speed of 3000 rpm, the motor delivers a mechanical output of 396 W when the servo amplifier applies the rated terminal voltage of 62.7 V. Under these conditions, it produces 179 oz-in of continuous torque at 25 °C, and that value decreases to 158 oz-in at 40 °C because of additional winding heat. The torque constant links commanded current to shaft torque, while the generated counter-electromotive force rises according to 18.50 V/KRPM. Supplying the required workload steadily draws 7.9 A of phase current, which helps size the matching drive and motor leads for continuous operation. This operating point suits axes that spend long periods at a commanded speed rather than repeated overload peaks.

For short bursts, the drive can command up to 84 A, allowing the rotor to reach a peak torque of 2076 oz-in during acceleration or shock loading. When the shaft is blocked, a static capability of 195 oz-in is available, limited thermally by the winding resistance of 0.750 ohms and the motor's internal heat-sink path. These overload values show how far the axis can be pushed above its continuous rating for brief events without demanding continuous thermal capacity. That margin helps during rapid indexing, sudden starts, short deceleration events, and other motion cycles where momentary load spikes are common. It also gives the drive some reserve for correcting short disturbance loads without a sustained temperature rise.
