The IC11030A5TSP1 linear motor coil is produced by Kollmorgen for the IC Ironcore Direct Drive Motors series. As an iron-core primary section, the unit generates linear thrust without mechanical transmissions, allowing precise positioning and smooth velocity profiles in pick-and-place gantries, machining tables, and other automation axes. It forms the active force-producing element of a direct drive stage when paired with the corresponding magnet track, delivering continuous motion that eliminates the backlash and maintenance associated with ball screw or belt systems.

When energized at its rated three-phase supply, the coil can deliver a continuous thrust of 140 N while drawing 6.87 Arms at 25 °C. The electromagnetic conversion efficiency is summarized by the 20.7 N/Arms force constant, so each ampere of current translates into linear force. During motion, the coil produces a back electromotive force proportional to speed, and the slope of this relationship is 16.9 Vpk/m/s. Dynamic current regulation is influenced by the winding inductance of 5.9 mH, which filters current changes and shapes current-loop bandwidth. Additional electrical characteristics include a line-to-line resistance of 0.66 ? and a rated power of 1517 W.

For short duty bursts, the coil accepts up to 24 Arms and can produce a peak thrust of 369 N for rapid acceleration or to overcome static friction.
