The ACO5000R1 is a programmable indexer driver manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the 5000 Indexer Drivers series. It is designed to issue incremental motion profiles and supply regulated current to a connected servo stage, acting as the command and power node between plant-level controllers and precision motors. Within automated assembly lines, the device enables repeatable positioning sequences that let an axis accelerate, dwell, and decelerate according to stored index data without requiring a full motion controller at each station.

The driver ties into the facility's DC rail through an internal power-supply connection, eliminating separate feed conductors and reducing cabinet wiring. Under continuous duty, it delivers 1200 W of output, which is the sustained electrical power available for maintaining velocity or holding torque on a single axis. Thermal stability is supported by a fan-cooled chassis that draws airflow across the heat-sink fins and helps prevent derating at elevated ambient temperatures. Cabinet planning is simplified by the compact 71 mm module width, allowing multiple axes to mount side by side in a compact enclosure. Drive-stage impedance is specified at 22 ?, which is useful when calculating current demand and regenerative loading during dynamic cycles.

During brief acceleration bursts, the indexer can furnish up to 5 kW of peak power, giving machinery additional headroom for rapid starts without oversizing the continuous supply. Mechanical attachment uses 4 x M6 mounting screws to fasten the housing to the panel and help restrain vibration from high-speed moves. A clearance of 10 cm above the top edge allows the axial fan to discharge heated air without recirculation. This spacing, together with proper EMC grounding, helps maintain signal integrity inside multi-axis cabinets.
