The 09.56.30B-1229 is an axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a controlled three-phase output that regulates induction or synchronous motors rated up to 1.5 kW in industrial automation systems. The unit provides scalar and vector control modes, enabling coordinated motion on conveyor zones, gantries, and material-handling stages. The drive issues auxiliary position or speed pulses at a TTL level, allowing direct connection to PLC high-speed counters without additional line drivers. Motor feedback enters through a UVW incremental encoder interface, which supplies phase-shifted signals for motor commutation and precise torque regulation at low speeds. The mains frequency can deviate by up to ±2 Hz from its nominal value without triggering a fault. The power section accepts a 50/60 Hz grid frequency, allowing the module to operate with common industrial power systems in multiple regions. If the installation height exceeds 1,000 m, the module must be derated by 1% for every additional 100 m because reduced air density decreases cooling performance.

Operation is permitted at elevations up to 3000 m above sea level when the required derating is applied. The output bridge synthesizes a sinusoidal waveform across three phases, making it suitable for standard industrial motors without external phase splitters. A cabinet with forced ventilation is required because the open-chassis design has an IP00 protection rating. This rating means that the bus bars and terminals are not protected against contact or airborne contaminants. The module must therefore be installed inside suitable switchgear or another protective enclosure. Its open construction supports airflow around the power components and provides direct access to terminals during wiring and maintenance. Adequate cabinet clearance must be maintained so cooling air can circulate without obstruction and prevent the power semiconductors from overheating.
