07.F4.S1D-3420 by KEB

The 07.F4.S1D-3420 is produced by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It modulates incoming voltage and frequency to control the speed of induction motors used in conveyors, pumps, and positioning axes. Its Compact D-size housing requires little panel space, making the inverter suitable for crowded control cabinets and retrofit installations. The compact arrangement also keeps connections close to the power terminals and helps reduce the length of internal cabinet wiring.

The drive accepts a three-phase supply ranging from 305 to 500 V. Power is carried through 1.5 mm² conductors protected by a 10 A fuse, while the IP20 enclosure prevents accidental contact with hazardous internal components. A 400 V class IGBT bridge supplies a nominal motor current of 2.6 A and produces 1.8 kVA of apparent output power. This output supports induction motors rated up to 0.75 kW. Short acceleration periods can draw as much as 4.6 A before the drive's protective functions intervene. The rated operating frequency and switching frequency are both 4 kHz, providing a balance between motor response and audible switching noise. Standard control logic and available fieldbus options support integration with common industrial control systems.

Dynamic braking energy is handled by an internal brake transistor connected to an external resistor. The braking circuit can use a resistor as low as 160 ohms, while the preferred resistance is 680 ohms. During deceleration, the circuit can conduct up to 5 A to dissipate energy returned by the motor. Total power loss is 45 W during nominal operation, so adequate airflow is required around the heat sink. The heat sink can operate at temperatures up to 85 °C without interrupting normal switching. The inverter operates in ambient temperatures from -10 °C to 45 °C. It also tolerates relative humidity up to 95% when the surrounding air remains free of condensation.
