The 176F3500 is a dedicated power-section printed-circuit board from Danfoss in the VLT PowerCards series. Installed inside high-power VLT variable-frequency drives, the board carries insulated-gate bipolar transistor firing circuits, current-sensing stages, and gate-power supplies. These functions connect the control logic to the power semiconductors so the drive can modulate motor voltage and frequency in heavy-duty automation lines. Because it performs low-level switching support, the main controller can focus on speed regulation, torque commands, and fault handling. Current feedback and switching support are handled on the card itself, which helps the drive respond accurately to load changes during operation.

The card is rated for input mains from 525-690 VAC, allowing operation on industrial supply systems within that voltage range. When paired with matching bus capacitors and switching devices, it supports motor systems up to 250 kW, making it suitable for large pumps, compressors, and material-handling drives. That capacity suits large variable-speed systems used in process plants and bulk material equipment. Danfoss classifies the unit as a Power Card, with gate-drive, snubber, and protective circuits integrated on one multilayer substrate. Physical displacement is limited to 15.354 dm³, which helps where depth behind the front panel is restricted. The compact board volume also helps preserve internal clearance for cooling channels and busbar routing in crowded cabinets.

With a mass of 1.17 kg, the module remains manageable during service handling. It carries the designation Overload Class NO, so it is intended for drives that rely on upstream protection rather than onboard overload relays. The circuitry is fully ruggedized, and both conformal coating and reinforced solder joints help the assembly tolerate vibration and airborne contaminants found in mining, marine, and outdoor HVAC equipment. These protective measures support stable operation in locations where dust, moisture, and mechanical stress are common. It is intended for environments where the drive enclosure may face long-term exposure to contaminants and repeated vibration.
