The 176F2136 is a plug-in power electronics board from Danfoss for high-capacity VLT drives. It distributes DC link energy to the inverter section and monitors critical currents and temperatures during operation. By using a compact printed-circuit assembly instead of a discrete wiring harness, the board supports consistent gating of IGBT modules in automated pump, fan, and conveyor equipment. It also serves as an internal link between the drive's control signals and the power stage, which helps keep the electrical layout compact inside the enclosure. Because it is a plug-in assembly, the board can be seated directly into the drive structure without requiring a separate cable bundle for each power-stage connection.
The printed circuit has a coated finish, so a conformal layer shields the copper traces from moisture and dust moved by cabinet airflow. A mass of 2.5 kg gives the assembly a solid build without making it excessively bulky for installation inside the drive. Its function is that of a Power Card, carrying the gate-drive, current-sense, and protection circuits required by the power stage. This version is used in a drive frame rated at 315 kW, placing it in the upper range of low-voltage variable-frequency drives used in large HVAC chillers and process pumps. The protective layer also helps reduce the risk of leakage paths across the board when fine contamination settles on energized surfaces.
The supported inverter section belongs to the 400 V class, so insulation spacing and creepage distances match common low-voltage industrial power systems. The assembly occupies 14.235 dm3, which helps preserve cabinet airflow and leaves room for adjacent busbars, heat sinks, and filter modules. Within the VLT PowerCards platform, the board works with matched control and power components inside the drive. Its role includes distributing DC link energy and supervising temperature feedback so the inverter can stay within its intended electrical limits. Its compact volume supports tighter cabinet packaging while still allowing clear routing paths for sensor leads and internal airflow channels.
