130B1168 by Danfoss

The 130B1168 is a plug-in control card engineered by Danfoss for the VLT Control Cards series. It installs in the option bay of a compatible VLT variable frequency drive to expand local and network I/O, provide reference voltages, and add serial and USB communication. By adding this card, the drive gains more interface capacity without changing the main power section, which supports integration with sensors, actuators, and supervisory controllers on a production line.

The card provides a precision reference of 10 V for external potentiometers and delivers a protected 24 V auxiliary source rated at 200 mA for field transducers. Two analog input channels are sampled with 10-bit resolution so the drive can respond to small changes in process variables. The control logic also includes 6 digital inputs for receiving start, stop, and limit signals from external devices. One buffered analog output can send scaled feedback to a panel meter or PLC, while two transistor outputs provide status signals for interlock circuits. For long-distance or multi-drop communication, the board includes an RS-485 interface that supports standard Modbus communication.

The board includes 3 option slots, allowing it to operate with other VLT options in the same system. Two form-C contacts provide 2 relay outputs for alarms or motor contactor control, and a separate pair of open-collector drivers supplies two digital outputs for counters or indicator lamps. The integrated port uses USB 1.1 Full-Speed, so local parameter backup can be handled without using the serial channel. This version is supplied without Safe Stop, so any forced de-energization function must be handled by external safety circuitry. That arrangement keeps the card focused on I/O expansion and communication tasks.
