The RLC1-012BAB motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RLC1 Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for fixed installation between IndraDrive amplifiers and synchronous motors, carrying phase power and low-level control voltages in production lines, packaging machines, and material-handling cells. The cable is suited to stationary machine layouts where repeated flexing is not required, so it can be routed through cabinet ducting or along fixed machine frames. It is typically used where the cable path remains stable after installation and where connection points do not move during normal operation. This makes it appropriate for enclosed automation systems that need orderly cable runs and consistent electrical performance over time.
The cable uses a combined conductor set with 4 power conductors sized 0.75 mm² and 2 auxiliary conductors sized 0.14 mm². The power conductors correspond to 18 AWG, which helps the cable fit common terminals used on drives and motor connections. Housing all conductors under one outer jacket keeps the assembly compact and reduces the number of separate cable runs between the amplifier and the motor. This layout also keeps the auxiliary circuits in the same routing path as the power conductors, which can simplify installation in narrow spaces. The smaller conductors are intended for low-level auxiliary functions, while the larger conductors carry the main motor supply.
For electrical loading, the cable carries an effective current of 10.4 A during normal service. Continuous operation is limited by a conductor temperature of 90 °C, and the surrounding installation area should remain at or below 40 °C to protect insulation life. The cable is identified as a Basic design, which indicates a standard PVC outer layer rather than a reinforced or chemically specialized construction. In enclosed panels or densely packed machine bases, heat from nearby components can influence how closely the cable approaches its allowable thermal limits. These limits are important when planning airflow, selecting protective devices, and choosing routing paths that avoid unnecessary heat buildup during extended operation.
