RLB2-042GDB by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RLB2-042GDB is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RLB Motor Power Cables series. It connects MS2(X) servo motors to drive inverters in factory automation, carrying phase current together with sensor and brake signals so motion axes on assembly lines or handling gantries can be powered and monitored through one routed harness. By combining motor power and auxiliary circuits in the same assembly, the cable reduces the need for separate cable runs through moving machine sections and supports cleaner routing in compact equipment.

The cable uses four main phase conductors rated at 4 × 6.0 mm², which helps limit voltage drop during high current transients. It also includes auxiliary conductors sized at 2 × 1.0 mm² + 2 × 1.5 mm² for feedback, temperature, or brake functions, so separate control wiring is not required along the same path. A nominal outer diameter of 18.2 mm allows the assembly to pass through drag-chain separators commonly used in multi-axis machines. The outer jacket is made of PUR (Orange RAL 2003), giving the cable good resistance to abrasion and oil while maintaining flexibility during repeated motion. Leakage capacitance is limited to 0.5 nF/m, which helps reduce unwanted electrical coupling between conductors and supports stable inverter operation.

The conductors can operate up to 90 °C in fixed routing and up to 80 °C during dynamic motion, allowing the same cable design to suit both stationary and moving installations. In drag-chain applications, the assembly can travel at speeds up to 300 m/min, which fits fast transfer systems and other high-cycle motion equipment. Full electrical compatibility is provided for ctrlX DRIVE inverters, so the cable matches the required pinout and shielding arrangement for that platform. The cabling layout combines motor phases with auxiliary cores in one sheath, which supports consistent integration where power delivery, brake control, and signal transmission must share the same moving path.
