RLB2-022ECB by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

Bosch Rexroth Indramat produces the RLB2-022ECB, a flexible power supply cord in the RLB Motor Power Cables series. It links MS2(X) servo motors to ctrlX or other Rexroth inverters, conducting three-phase power and protective earth in dynamic machine axes. By combining the motor-side and drive-side requirements into a single molded assembly, the cable streamlines installation in automated conveyors, pick-and-place arms, and compact machining centers.

The cable's round sheath has an outer diameter of 14.8 mm, so drag-chain carriers and conduit must accept that size when routing through moving joints. Inside the sheath, the power cores use a 2.5 mm² cross-section that fits the continuous current range of mid-frame synchronous motors, while two twisted auxiliary pairs carry brake release or reference signals for compatible motor functions. At the motor end, an M23 (SPEEDCON) connector locks with a quarter-turn motion, reducing installation time and providing sealed connection protection. The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles under flex testing, allowing use in linear gantries or robotics with tight radii. The jacket material is PUR, which resists cutting oils and welding spatter better than PVC.

Electrical behavior is controlled as well: line-to-earth capacitance stays at 0.4 nF/m, helping drives meet leakage current limits in fault monitoring circuits. Conductors can reach up to +90 °C when clamped in place and +80 °C during continuous motion, so thermal conditions should be considered during routing and operation. Compatibility with ctrlX DRIVE amplifiers removes the need for custom pin assignments, and the orange RAL 2003 jacket makes the cable easy to identify in machine wiring runs. Its conductor arrangement supports combined motor power and auxiliary functions in a single cable assembly.
