The RL2-522EBB is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for second-generation Rexroth servo motors and supplies drive current together with low-level sensor lines to moving axes in automated machinery. By combining power and signal conductors in one assembly, the cable simplifies cabinet wiring and helps maintain electromagnetic compatibility in industrial environments. The combined layout also reduces the number of separate cable runs between the drive and the motor, which helps keep moving cable bundles more compact in densely packed machinery.
This assembly has a basic design and contains 4x L + 4x 0.75 mm² conductors, so four load cores carry phase current while four 0.75 mm² wires carry encoder or brake signals. Each load core has a nominal cross section of 2.5 mm², which affects allowable continuous current and voltage drop along the cable run. At the motor end, an M23 (Plug U) connector mates directly with second-generation Rexroth housings, so the connection fits the motor interface without an adapter. The PUR outer jacket in orange RAL 2003 resists oils and weld spatter and supports mobile cable-track use. The power cores are rated for 600/1000 V, and the separated signal line insulation is rated for 450/750 V to help protect feedback electronics against transient surges. Keeping power and signal functions in one cable also supports orderly routing between the drive and the motor.
The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, so it is suitable for high-duty cable-chain motion. During movement, the minimum bend radius is 7.5xD, while stationary installation allows a tighter bend radius of 5xD for more compact routing inside cabinets. Conductor temperature can reach 90 °C in fixed installation and 80 °C during flexing, while the ambient service temperature ranges from -30 °C to 80 °C. These limits support both moving and fixed routing conditions in automation equipment. The PUR sheath supports continuous use near drives, robots, and handling modules where repeated motion is common.
