RL2-105GBB by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

Bosch Rexroth Indramat supplies the RL2-105GBB as part of the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. The cable interconnects second-generation IndraDrive servo motors with their drives, carrying motor power and auxiliary sensor lines in automated machinery. By matching the electrical and mechanical interfaces used in the series, it supports installation in moving cable chains and fixed cabinet runs found in production cells, conveyors, and packaging equipment. Combining power and auxiliary conductors in one assembly also reduces the number of separate cable runs that must follow the axis.

The cable uses a jacket made from PUR (Orange RAL 2003), and this thermoplastic urethane resists oils and abrasion common in industrial environments. Four power conductors with a cross section of 6.0 mm² plus four 0.75 mm² signal pairs are arranged as 4x L + 4x 0.75 mm², keeping the overall cable diameter at 18.2 mm. During dynamic motion, the assembly may bend to a minimum radius of 7.5 × D; in fixed routing, the radius can be reduced to 5 × D. Copper strands may reach 90 °C in fixed service and 80 °C during continuous flexing, while the jacket supports ambient temperatures from -30 °C to 80 °C when clamped and -20 °C to 60 °C in moving applications. This flexibility helps the cable follow carrier motion without placing unnecessary stress on the insulation during repeated travel.

Cable life in energy chains is supported by a rating of 5,000,000 bending cycles, so frequent acceleration of gantries or pick-and-place axes does not prematurely wear the insulation system. Leakage capacitance is limited to 0.5 nF/m, which helps reduce unwanted charging effects on longer runs. The power cores are insulated for up to 600/1000 V, while the signal pairs carry control voltages up to 450/750 V. Separate insulation levels for the power and control conductors support mixed routing within the same outer jacket. This combination supports common European and North American power systems and helps preserve EMC separation between motor power and control circuits.
