The RL2-086JBB motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. It links second-generation IndraDrive motors to their drive controllers, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary signals while remaining flexible inside energy chains on packaging lines, pick-and-place axes, and general automation cells. The product employs a basic cable design that balances mechanical endurance with modest outer diameter, so installers can route it through compact drag chains and gland plates without excess strain.

The cable is engineered for continuous motion applications; its flex life reaches 5,000,000 bending cycles, so drag-chain installations can operate for extended service intervals. Power conductors employ a copper cross-section of 16.0 mm², giving low resistive loss at the drive's typical current levels. A wear-resistant PUR (Orange RAL 2003) outer jacket resists oils, coolants, and abrasion common in machining cells. During motion, mechanical stress is limited because the minimum dynamic bending radius is 7.5×D, where D is the overall cable diameter. For fixed routing inside a cabinet the sheath tolerates ambient temperatures from -30 to +80 °C, allowing placement near machine frames that experience cold starts or elevated enclosure heat.

In mixed motor-encoder assemblies the signal pair operates safely up to 450/750 V, while the three-phase power cores carry up to 600/1000 V; this separation avoids crosstalk and meets drive insulation class requirements. Insulation integrity is further indicated by at least 20 M?/km resistance at 20 °C, which limits leakage current over long runs. Copper strand temperature may reach 90 °C under sustained load without degrading the dielectric. When the machine is idle the cable can rest at a static bend of 5×D, and its flexible section functions between -20 and +60 °C without embrittlement.
