The RL2-044DBB belongs to the RL2 Motor Power Cables series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It is a basic-design motor lead intended for second-generation servo and spindle motors, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary conductors between the drive and the machine. The cable is used where continuous motion, frequent flexing, and tight routing paths are expected in industrial automation cells. That arrangement suits machine sections where the cable must move with the axis rather than remain in a fixed tray.

This model carries phase current through copper conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², a size that balances current capacity with easy handling in cable chains. Its power cores are rated for 600/1000 V, so it matches typical low-voltage inverter outputs used with industrial motors. Fixed installation can tolerate conductor temperatures up to 90 °C, while the dynamic bending radius is limited to 7.5 × D to reduce stress during repeated motion. The insulation system has a minimum volume resistance of 20 M?/km, which helps limit leakage current along longer cable runs and supports stable drive operation. The conductor size also keeps the cable more flexible than larger motor leads, which is useful where bend space is limited.

For drag-chain service, the jacket withstands at least 5,000,000 flex cycles, and its outer sheath is made of PUR to resist coolants and cutting fluids while maintaining the orange RAL 2003 color. An integral circular connector sized M40 mates directly with the motor housing, shortening connection time and reducing the chance of wiring errors. When sensors share the same harness, the auxiliary pair is insulated for 450/750 V duty, providing separation from the higher-voltage power cores. Static routing can use bends down to 5 × D without kinking, and the 80 °C limit for flexible operation supports use in warm enclosures and other tightly packed machine spaces. The combined power and signal arrangement also reduces the number of separate cables that need to pass through a carrier or machine arm.
