The RL2-042EBB is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RL2 Motor Power Cables series. It links second-generation IndraDrive servo motors to their drives, carrying three-phase power and protective conductor signals inside a single sheath. This arrangement keeps the power and auxiliary conductors together, which reduces the need for separate cable runs at the axis. Its single-cable format also helps keep routing cleaner in compact machine layouts where moving space is limited. The cable is suited for conveyors, packaging lines, robotic axes, and other automated machinery that relies on coordinated motion.

Mechanical life reaches 5,000,000 flex cycles, supporting continuous cable-track motion without early fatigue. The conductor set uses a 4x L + 4x 0.75 mm² layout, with four larger conductors for motor power and four smaller conductors for auxiliary or ground functions. Each load core is 2.5 mm², which supports current transfer while limiting voltage drop over typical axis runs. Insulation resistance remains above 20 M?/km at 20 °C, helping reduce leakage during inverter operation. A line-to-ground capacitance of 0.4 nF/m helps estimate cable charging effects in high-frequency switching environments. For installation, the cable requires a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D and a static bend radius of 5 × D. During rotational motion, it tolerates torsional stress up to ±30 °/m, which supports use on robot wrists and other moving axes. The PUR (Orange RAL 2003) outer jacket resists oils and weld spatter while remaining flame retardant. The basic cable design keeps mass low and preserves the second-generation motor pinout used with the V-coded M40 connector, so the assembly remains compatible with matching drive and motor interfaces.
